Ok I'm a single mom with a 24 year old beautiful disabled son .. I'm 48 but feel 98 .. My bones and joints are finally giving out on me from the years of lifting ... I've never been able to work because he needs 24/7 care .. The money situation is worse than it's ever been and looks like I might have to move in with my 70 years old parents ... Please any suggestions ???

There has to be some way we could get paid as caregivers even though we are family ... I haven't had a pay check in 24 years and I would never consider letting a stranger take care of him so I'm at the point of depression and total despair !!

I hope u are still on this forum! I just returned after several yrs of being away, and your post jumped out at me.
I too care for my disabled son. He is now 30 yrs old. There IS help( payment) available to parents who care for their adult children depending on what state your in. I'd be happy to discuss this with you if your still active here.Let me know via a recent post.
