I care for my wife and have to leave work periodically to take her to the ER. And on the verge of possibly losing my job. Is there anywhere I can go to find out if I can get paid to stay home and be her fulltime caregiver? SHe has Guillem Barre Syndrome and tremors. Her left foot is paralyzed.
There is a waiver program in my state (PA), however when I got set up with them they said that the criteria was that we couldn't be related, married, or I couldn't be his power of attorney. We started by talking to the office of aging, that is how we found out about the information, it wouldn't hurt to at least talk and see what they can tell you. Hope that helped a little!
