We live in Florida, the state does not require us to have workers comp because we employ only 3 care givers. The 3 caregivers who go to a assisted living facility to care for my mother-in-law. They have worked there for 19 months and are paid as w2 employees. Last week the facility informed us that we need to provide a certificate of workers comp for them or they would be barred from the facility. I have tried to get workers comp but the state does not require it and I cannot find any agency that will give me workers comp for my care givers. The facility is basically blackballing my caregivers because the state does not require me to have workers comp and the insurance companies will not issue me any coverage for my caregivers.
Can anyone hemp me with this mess?
