I am responsible for caring for my elderly relative, who is sick and in need of constant attention. As of late, the medical bills and procedures have significantly increased. Unfortunately, I am getting incredibly fatigued and frustrated. On top of all of this, I believe the medical bills of the individual are incorrect and more than what they should be.
I really don't have the time or energy to solve this. I was wondering if anyone knew of a respected company that could accurately find these mistakes and save me much need money.
I am not aware of a reputable company that can dispute these medical bills for you that won't cost you an arm and a leg.
My suggestion is that if you haven't done it already is to call your relative's health insurer. Most of the time they are assigned a health concierge that can help you fix outstanding charges. If not, contact their health insurer's custumer service dept and ask them what you might do to fix outstanding charges. They may be able to help.
Another thing you may want to do is call the provider's billing department directly. Many of them are trained to help you fix outstanding charges and will even call the insurer for you; going to bat for you and getting to the bottom of it.
