Hi. My name is Debra. I care for my mom, age 101. At age 64 (31st of this month) I also work on an industrial floor 48 to 56 hours a week. Thankfully my mom is all there mentally, but she suffers from nerve damage as a result of shingles she had almost 40 years ago. It affects the whole right side of her body. She has recovered from double pneumonia that hit her mid September. I am desperate for a support system for emotional support and help answering questions.
do you have access to mental health therapy for yourself? Thats a HUGE burden for you alone.
Also- frends and family need to step up- even if its for an hour a month just so you can rest and recoup. Are there support groups nearby ? Mayeb chat with a stroke assoc - its kind of what she has had happen and they may be able to adbise on services to assit you both
