Hi - I'm a 59 y/o man, caring for my wife of nearly 32 years. She has had fibromyalgia and lupus which have progressively worsened over the past 2-3 years.
I'm looking to connect with other spouses/partners of individuals suffering from chronic pain.
How do you cope? What do you do to keep your marriage from crashing and burning? What other resources are out there for us caregivers dealing with these challenging and insidious chronic pain diseases?
Sorry I cannot say I live with a lupus/fibro person. But If it's ok I wanted to say that I know of people who cured the pain by changing their diet to exclude all animal and oil products. It is called a Whole Food Plant Based Diet, No Oil. They said that the animal products cause inflammation and the inflammation is what causes the pain. Also, no chemicals, or highly processed vegan food. Many doctors and even Kaiser Health approve of it. It is worth trying it out. I am on the diet also.
