Hospice - When the end is near or maybe not

I am new to the forum an I guess that I just need an outlet and to see if anyone is/was in a similar circumstance and how you cope.

I love my mom - she has lived with my family and me for the last few years after my dad died.  In the last year, her health has steadily declined and she made the decision to go with hospice care in February.  Hospice has been wonderful and gentle as she continued to decline.  Then one week, she went downhill very rapidly and was suddenly bedridden and just looked bad.  Our hospice nurse told us that she did not look good and it appeared that it would be days, rather than weeks, possibly hours...that was 10 weeks ago.  I have watched my mom waste away for 10 weeks and yet she contininues to keep going and I am struggling.  I know that she is ready but somehow she still remains.

I just don't know what to think or how I'm supposed to feel...we are in this strange suspended animation.  She is alive (and mostly lucid - when awake and pleasant) but she is not living.  She appears to be mostly comfortable and at peace, which is a blessing but I just don't know how to feel...I'm just so tired.

Hi, Runningonempty -

Hi, Runningonempty -

Just wanted to leave a message thanking you for sharing. I think there are many that can relate what you're going through. It is such a difficult and painful aspect of caregiving that isn't talked about often. Just knowing that there is someone else that can relate to what you're eperiencing can make a difference.

essay writing

essay writing also brings negative impacts to society. The academic level of universities and the comprehensive quality of students are important components of a country's soft power. If a large number of students obtain degrees through essay writing http://www.12y.org/services/ , it will lead to the devaluation of academic qualifications and a crisis of social trust. Additionally, essay writing often involves illegal exchanges of interests, such as using students' identities for advertising or extortion, which undermines social fairness and justice.
